Abstract

Abstract It is the responsibility of any Muslim to engage in belief topics consciously. Especially, Kalam/?Aqâid (Islamic Theology) as a discipline is straightforwardly interested in the belief?s topics. In addition, the ilm-i hal (the works explaining the basic principles of Islam) and tasawwuf are interested in the belief?s topics indirectly. Ilm-i hal and tasawwuf have considered the topics of belief in a conventional way. The preachers must benefit from these traditional books as well as trying to find new solutions to the problems related to faith. The fact that there are many religious and sectarian movements in modern day Turkey requires us to scrutinize these basic belief topics more closely on the one hand and think about the novel ways of imparting them to the common people on the other.
