Abstract
The Fano matching limitations are applied to the analysis of small multi-resonant electric dipole antennas. It is assumed that the achievable Q-factor of the fundamental resonant mode of the antenna is known for a given frequency. The results can then be combined with known lower bounds on Q for arbitrary geometries. In this manner, tight bounds can be derived on the achievable bandwidth for many practical antennas.
