Abstract

Current knowledge of solar tides in the middle and upper atmospheres of Mars and Venus is summarized, including Sun-synchronous tides on both planets; nonmigrating tides on Mars due to radiative/topographic interactions near the surface; and acceleration/deceleration of the zonal mean flows on Mars and Venus due to tidal interactions.
