Abstract

Thyroxine action on the activities of cAMP independent histone and casein kinases was studied in thyroidectomized rats treated with hormone for 2–5 days. After thyroidectomy, there was no change in total activity of histone kinases (evaluated by kinetic study) but 50% inhibition of casein kinases. Thyroxine treatment of operated animals restored the casein kinase activity to its initial level.
