Abstract
Summary1. Oxidation of glucose by the hexose monophosphate shunt pathway has been estimated by measuring the radioactive carbon dioxide produced from 1-C14-glucose added to blood treated with methylene blue. 2. A significant decrease in early C14 O2 production has been found in blood obtained from thyrotoxic patients and normal subjects treated with triiodothyronine.
