Abstract

ABSTRACT Induced gamma ray spectroscopy has proved to be a valuable tool for through-casing reservoir evaluations in California. The data have provided reliable fluid saturations and lithology information under a variety of conditions. This paper examines several applications of these measurements. Environmental considerations and logging limitations are discussed. The cased hole answers are compared with openhole logging measurements, core data, and production results.
