Abstract

This study was subjected to investigate thrombolytic and cytotoxic properties of Commelina benghalensis methanol extract. The cytotoxicity had been assessed while using brine shrimp lethality bioassay and also thrombolytic impact with individual blood. The brine shrimp lethality bioassay result was (LC50= 278.69 µg/ml) compared with standard vincristine sulphate (LC50=0.512 µg/ml). It has significant thrombolytic activity (40.94%) compared with standard streptokinase (75%).
