Abstract

The level scheme of 175Yb has been investigated. In the decay of 15 min 175Tm, single γ-ray spectra, γ- and βγ-coincidence spectra were measured by means of Ge(Li) and scintillation detector spectrometry. Many new γ-ray transitions have been observed. Several new levels above 1 MeV could be introduced into the 175Yb level scheme, four of them probably being connected with three-quasiparticle excitations. An attempt to measure the lifetime of the strongly excited level at 1496.7 keV resulted in an upper limit of 0.1 ns.
