Abstract

The three-phase zone converter application for the adaptive regulation of power distribution is considered in the traction power system of urban electric transport. The application of zone rectifiers is justified. The operation principles of zone converter are formulated under adaptive control realization. It is estimated the utilization efficiency of a three-phase zone converter as a method for realization output voltage regulation at equally high energy performance. It is proved that adaptive control of the output voltage makes possible to steady cross currents, to reduce consumed currents and all sections voltage of the traction network, and as a result to reduce the specific electric energy consumption.
