Abstract

The effect of three-particle intermediate states in relativistic field theory is investigated using some simple models. The partial wave amplitudes are meromorphic functions of the total angular momentum in some half-plane; however, the Regge poles condense around a point, the position of which dependes on the relative signs and magnitudes of the couplings constants. Correspondingly, the asymptotic behaviour of the scattering amplitudes may not be determined by a single Regge pole.
