Abstract

Three-nucleon forces arising from heavy meson exchanges are considered. Three-nucleon force components following from the π − π, π − ρ, π − σ, and π − ω exchanges are included. Potentials due to the intermediate resonance are obtained considering the π meson-nucleon-nucleon vertex. The corresponding additions and subtractions of each exchange process to the bound state energy are numerically calculated. The net contribution of the present theoretical inclusion of the present three-nucleon forces is found to improve the binding energy of the trinucleon system by about 0.43 MeV.
