Abstract
ObjectiveTo study the morphometric characteristics of Chinese lower cervical vertebrae in order to investigate the feasibility of cervical anterior transpedicular screw (ATPS) fixation and provide anatomical data.MethodsCervical CT images from 50 healthy volunteers (35 male and 15 female) were collected. All the images from C3–C7 were reconstructed by Mimics 13.0 software. We measured the dimensions of the vertebral bodies and pedicles from images of multiplanar reconstruction, as well as the parameters related to ATPS technology.ResultsSome of the vertebrae parameters has a statistic differences between the male and female groups (P<0.05). And the sagittal Pedicle Angles increased with the number of cervical vertebrae in all specimens (P<0.05).ConclusionsThis study provides the cervical spine morphological parameters from Chinese population, which provides the basis for ATPS research for osteoporosis patients.
