Abstract
Purpose: A prototype real-time tracking radiation treatment (RTRT) system with insertion of one internal fiducial marker was shown to be useful in reducing translational error in treating prostate cancer. However, it was not possible to calculate and reduce rotational error using the prototype system. We have developed a new algorithm using three internal markers to measure rotational error and reduce it in the treatment for prostate cancer.
