Abstract

In this paper, ANSYS POLYFLOW with finite element-based was adopted for the three-dimensional flow-field simulation in the rubber mixing process, and integrated with the methods including overlapping grid, Picard iteration and time-stepping scheme. The viscosity field cloud-picture in cycle process of rubber-mixing was obtained, and then the mixing-field characteristics under different process parameters and structures for each time-stage were analyzed. The simulation results show that the three-dimensional flow-field model for viscosity in the rubber mixing process is effective, and the dynamic viscosity change in the whole mixing process can be realized.
