Abstract

In the spring of last year a delegation from the British electricity supply industry paid a three-week visit to the Soviet Union. This lecture, which was given by Mr. J. Eccles (now Sir Josiah Eccles) at an Ordinary Meeting of The Institution on the 8th November 1956, records some impressions of the Soviet Union and in particular of her electrical engineering achievement. A short account of the meeting by Mr. F. J. Lane, who was also a member of the delegation to the Soviet Union, appeared in the January issue on p. 46.
