Abstract

Two failure modes of laminated glass under impact loading are summarized, after which a series of experiments are carried out and a three-stage breakage model for laminated glass plate is proposed. The three-stage breakage model consists of an elastic stage (stage Ⅰ), a stage of total breakage of the back glass layer (stage Ⅱ) and a stage of total breakage of both layers of glass (stage Ⅲ). Furthermore, a combined TCK-JH2 constitutive model is proposed for the numerical analysis conducted with Finite Element Method (FEM). In this constitutive model, the TCK model is employed when the material is under tensile condition whereas the JH2 model is employed when the material is under compressive condition. Moreover, a stiffness recovery behavior is defined. The criterion of tension and compression is studied as well.
