Abstract

Comastomaxanthones A–C (1–3), three new xanthones with a rare 2-oxoprenyl substituent, along with three known ones (4–6) were isolated from the aerial parts of Comastoma pedunculatum. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques. In addition, compounds 1–6 were tested for their anti-tobacco mosaic virus activity. The results showed that all isolated compounds exhibited weak anti-TMV activity with IC50 values ranging from 122.7 to 242.9μM.
