Abstract

Three new 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone derivatives (1–3) were obtained from the artificial holing agarwood originating from Aquilaria sinensis. Their structures were unambiguously deduced by detailed spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configurations were determined by ECD calculations. Compounds 1–3 displayed acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity with the inhibition ratios in the range of 30%–45% at a concentration of 50 μg/ml.
