Abstract

The introduction of competence approach and, at the same time the construction of school of personality development requires new scientific rethinking of both content and structure of competence. Studies that focus on personal qualities that accelerate or inhibit the process of mastering competences, become more vital. They determine not only external but also internal manifestations of competence. In presented work the statement about the dual nature of competence, about duality of displays is conceptual. Its main purpose is to determine the structure of external and internal manifestations of competence. Methods of content-theoretical and structural-system analysis applied in the article: abstraction, modeling, ranking and generalisation. It has been found out that competence is an integrated characteristic of an individual`s quality as a subject of activity in a certain sphere of production, but competence is the content and normative and functional characteristics of the subject's activities that determine the scope of one`s powers and establish regulatory functions in a society. It has been substantiated that both external and internal manifestations of competence have three basic dimensions. The three measurement structures of external manifestation of competence are represented by the content-theoretical, process-effective and reference-communicative dimensions. The same structure of its internal manifestation is of value-motivational, reflexive-evaluative and personal-psychological dimensions. The modeling of external and internal dimensions of competence has been carried by means of Cartesian interpretation, in which the coordinates (abscissa, ordinate, applique) correspond to the place and significance of other characteristics (indicators) of competence. It has been proved that in internal manifestation of competence values, self-esteem and abilities prevail, and external manifestation of competence reveil to theoretical models, skills and assertiveness.
