Abstract

In recent years, the potential biomedical applications of micro/nanorobots have attracted extensive attention. We propose three laws of design for biomedical micro/nanorobots (BM/NRs) derived from Isaac Asimov’s “Three Laws of Robotics”. The basic design concepts of BM/NRs in terms of biocompatibility, substrate, surface modification, driving force system, targeting function, loading/releasing cargo and multimodal combined therapy are given.
