Abstract

Three-dimensional numerical simulation of ocean surface wave based on ocean directional spectrum and linear wave theory was investigated. Wen's directional spectrum which properly reflects not only the wind speed and direction but also the wind-wave growth status was adopted as the target-spectrum. The nondimensional form of directional spectrum was presented. The principle of frequency sampling and the calculating procedure were discussed in detail. The simulation result was analyzed which shows that the proposed algorithm is feasible and effective and the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
