Abstract

Nowadays, large-diameter pipelines from 600 to 1400 mm are commonly used to transport oil, gas and other products over long distances. Accordingly, the need for the production of gate valves of the indicated diameters is increasing. However, the production of such valves in Russia is at an early stage and in many cases imported valves are used. At the same time, large-diameter gate valves are usually made according to custom designs, and the range of items is limited. In this regard, the import substitution of large-sized gate valves problem arises. As well as the problem of the implementation of wedge valves agile design and their manufacture in any quantity in a short time with the parameters specified by customers. One of the factories that has started solving these problems is the Blagoveshchensk Valve Plant JSC. It is shown that the design and manufacture of large diameter gate valves can be carried out in two stages. The first stage is to develop a unified model of a wedge-gate valve with various parameters. The second stage is the research practice on the stress-strain state of the valve body and the selection of an optimal design that meets all the requirements in terms of strength and tightness with minimum weight and the greatest durability. The article shows the results of the first stage of solving this problem. As a source object, we chose a cast wedge-gate valve with a main passage diameter DN 800 mm and operating under the pressure of PN 4.0 MPa (40 kg/cm2). The model was built using the Compass-3D software. The process of creating parts, choosing the shapes and sizes of valve elements is briefly described. At this stage, we designed models of the gate valve main elements, on the basis of which we created a three-dimensional model of the wedge-gate valve. Its distinctive feature is that on its basis it is possible to create valves with various parameters and design options in accordance with customers’ requirements in a short period of time
