Abstract

Fog harvesting is one of the most effective, direct, and low-cost methods to achieve sustainable development of freshwater resources. In recent years, slippery surfaces infused with lubricants have received much attention in terms of mist collection. Inspired by the lubrication characteristics of Nepenthes and guided by previous work experience, more slippery surfaces with structural features need to be studied. In this study, we successfully fabricated the Cu2O micro/nano thin wire structure on the surface of the copper foam three-dimensional framework by a simple two-step method. After the injection of dimethylsilicone oil, the smooth surface of the three-dimensional framework with lubricant injection was successfully designed. The fog collection efficiency can reach 0.277 g min−1 cm−2.
