Abstract
A three-dimensional model of the magnetic circuit of a single-phase power meter has been developed and the air-gap field in the absence of the rotating disc has been computed. The calculation has been carried out by the finite-element method using a total and a reduced scalar potential for describing the magnetic field. The flux density values in the air gap show a good correspondence with measured data.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
