Abstract

Whenever asymmetrical winding arrangements of transformers are to investigate, the use of three-dimensional calculation methods is essential. In this paper an alternative method to the classical Finite Element formulation is used, based on reduced and total scalar potentials. The basic equations of this method are presented in a short form. Applied on the example of a helical winding arrangement, the results and the influence of winding parameters are discussed.
