Abstract

The Perceval bioprosthetic valve is a contemporary sutureless technology utilised for surgical aortic valve replacement (AVR). Accurate sizing of this valve during implantation requires a completely different mindset and methodology compared with traditional sutured AVR. In New Zealand, adoption of Perceval valves remains low given the difficulties that surgeons encounter with valve sizing. There is a paucity of literature on evaluating the efficacy of pre-procedure imaging-based three-dimensional (3D) modelling for structural valve intervention. This study aimed to investigate the use of a novel computed tomography (CT)-based 3D aortic root computer model to guide Perceval valve sizing.
