Abstract

Lerman Non-Invasive Halo (LNIH) is a noninvasive cervical stabilization system that has been used successfully for postoperative stabilization in conditions of nontraumatic etiology in the pediatric population. No studies exist regarding the use of the LNIH system in cases of adult cervical spine trauma. This article documents the use of the LNIH system in three adult subjects with neurologically stable, minimally displaced, traumatic cervical spine injuries. In each of these patients, the LNIH system provided effective cervical stabilization without the negative sequelae that often result from invasive pin placement in the skull.
