Threat assessments and higher education public safety

Abstract

While many of us can link the historical discussions about behavioral threat and risk assessments on college campuses to the tragic events at Virginia Tech in 2007, recent events elsewhere have surfaced the issue yet again. In her October 13, 2022, article in Inside Higher ED, Colleen Flaherty discussed the history in light of the recent murder of a faculty member by a former student that took place at the University of Arizona on October 5, 2022 (read the article at https://bit.ly/3N7ULeP).
