Abstract

Mythical characters and their activities provide us a hypothesis and raise interesting questions related to various physical and mental properties of human beings which have been supplied insights from the field of science these days. In this paper, I am concerned with the ideas of innateness, ancient and modern. I have tried to see Abhimanyu's learning in the womb as a hypothesis to argue for the ideas of innateness. As a mythical character Abhimanyu tells us that a child learns in its mother's womb. Though new research findings are supporting the ideas of innateness, still it is debated whether it has innate ability.
