Abstract
Abstract The Particular Baptists are often regarded as a marginal group in the panorama of British Christianity, and yet by the close of the long eighteenth century a number of sterling preachers had emerged from their ranks, including Benjamin Beddome and Robert Hall, Jr. This essay provides an overview of the fundamental ideas behind Particular Baptist preaching in the eighteenth century and details of the plain-style preaching promoted in this community.
