Abstract

Partial or complete agenesis of the hemidiaphragm is a rare anomaly that is typically discovered during the neonatal period. Late presentation is very rare when elderly patients have been asymptomatic for a long time. Partial agenesis of the hemidiaphragm is extremely rare, with only a few reported cases. It is usually associated with herniation of the abdominal organs and is predominantly left-sided. We report a case of a 70-year-old woman who had right-sided diaphragm agenesis with an anteriorly displaced crus and intrathoracic herniation of the kidney, liver, and colon, as demonstrated by multidetector computed tomography.
