Abstract

A Thomson scattering apparatus for measuring the electron temperature and density profiles of the JFT-2 plasma has been constructed. Measuring positions are determined by six fibers separated from each other by a distance of approximately 2 cm. The Littrow type spectrometer provides 48 wavelength elements with 57–250 Å. The 48-photo-multipliers are arranged on the output field of the fibers. Spatial profiles of Te and ne in the range 0.05–1.5 keV and 1013–1014cm-3 in the JFT-2 Tokamak have been obtained with only one discharge.
