Abstract
Abstract Thomson scatter observations of the ionospheric F have revealed important oscillations of the ionization density, velocity and temperatures. These oscillations are interpreted using the theory of internal gravity waves originating in the auroral zone and their presence appears to be correlated with strong magnetic activity.
