Abstract
In the second half of the XIIIth century rose an autonomous political science, as it is understood today. This was caused by two facts : on the one hand, the Latin translation of Aristotle’s Politics, on the other hand, the definition of theology as a science, which lead to the independence of sciences in different fields. The dictionaries and the works on the classifications of sciences allow to assess this evolution, which took place in a deeply christianized Western Europe : the first commentaries on Aristotle’s Politics are its fruits.
