Abstract
Previous investigations summarized; existence of thixotropic effects in compacted clays and their variation with soil composition; test data illustrating magnitude of thixotropic strength increases with time for compacted clays in normal compression tests and under repeated loading conditions; effects of thixotropy on results of tests conducted.
