Abstract

Third harmonic ac susceptibility of superconducting strips with finite thickness in perpendicularly applied magnetic field H a = H 0 sin(ω t) have been calculated. The flux creep effect is taken into account by using a power-law electric field E( j) = E c ( j/ j c ) n . Results for different thicknesses and creep exponents n have been derived and compared to the results derived from the Bean critical state model.
