Abstract

Results of a new study offer evidence of an association between third‐generation antipsychotics (aripiprazole, brexpiprazole, and cariprazine) and impulse control disorders such as pathological gambling and compulsive shopping. The vast majority of the relevant reports identified in the study's examination of the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) Adverse Event Reporting System involved aripiprazole. Study results were published online May 27, 2022, in the International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology.
