Abstract

A thioflavin T-based fluorescent probe was synthesized by using o-aminobenzenethiol and copper reagent as raw materials. The results showed that it exhibited relatively high sensitivity and selectivity to Hg, and the common metal ions hardly interfered in the determination. The probe could be used for the visual detection of Hg and applied to image intracelluar Hg in living Hela cells.
