Abstract
Incorporation of sulfur into desirable thio-link for further functionalization is available by two methods, which are clearly emerging from available pool of tools, specifically, Thiol Michael Enone Addition (TMEA) and thiol-ene coupling (TEC). Both approaches are highly stereoselective, and form adducts in overall high yield. TEC thiol-ene coupling protocol was employed in the stereoselective and high yield coupling (78% and 86%) of ene 2 with 1-thioglucose and 1-thiogalactose
