Abstract

As techniques improve, visual media tends to be designed for, and used on, the Internet, televisions, mobile phones, and outdoor LED video screens. We are moving from a “paper era” to a “screen era.” The 2008 Olympic games and 2010 EXPO brought China an incredible experience of new media. China is adapting and developing a new way of presenting its culture and communicating with the world. What, then, do we do to popularize and promote this new way? This Paper explains the application of computer, computer animation and visual effects, non-planar screen image, and interactive media design which exert a great influence on the development of the media discipline, and analyzes how to improve teaching methods as well as cultivate talents for the society in the time of transformation according to the current situation of the media discipline in China.
