Abstract

The concept of “harmony” is one of the most significant and embracing of aesthetic and metaphysical classical thought about the beauty of the world. In this sense a philosophical concept of harmony can be spoken of that in fact exceeds its technical-musical sense, without renouncing the musical connotations. Werner Beierwaltes explained, in a recent article, the “reciprocal connection” of both concepts saying that since “the philosophical concept lays the foundation of the musical one and includes it, the musical concept can be referred again to the philosophical component.”2
