The government should back current moves to introduce regional pay and conditions in the NHS and issue providers with a clear mandate to do so, says a report by the right wing think tank Reform.1 NHS organisations would do well to follow the South West Pay Terms and Conditions Consortium, which along with other groups of NHS trusts is now considering local pay deals for staff,2 it says.
