Treatment of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is associated with a 98% sustained virologic response (SVR) rate in monoinfected patients ( N Engl J Med 2001; 345:1452), but how effective is it in HIV-coinfected patients? To address this question, investigators in France conducted a pilot study among 25 men with HIV and acute HCV infection.
