Abstract
Aligned carbonyl iron flakes/graphene nanosheets composites (CI/GP) with wider bandwidths and thinner thicknesses were obtained. The effect of GP content, and the alignment of CI and GP on the electromagnetic properties and microwave absorption properties were studied, respectively. Higher permeability was obtained by aligned CI composites owing to CI alignment. Suitable permittivity and better frequency response characteristic were achieved due to the addition and alignment of GP nanosheets. The microwave absorption performances proved that the aligned CI/GP composites achieved wider absorption band and thinner thickness. At the thickness of 0.7 mm, CI/GP(1.0) composite shows a wider absorption band (reflection loss (RL) < − 5 dB) of 11.0 GHz (7–18 GHz).
