Abstract

New results are reported for the relative doubly differential bremsstrahlung cross section for photons radiated at 0° for 50 keV electrons incident on Ag, TbF 3, Au and UF 4 targets. A “difference” method, particularly useful at 0°, is used and discussed. Problems and remedies unique to the 0° geometry are presented. A new method of fitting theory to data which includes both detector response and background contributions is also introduced. The measured photon energy dependence of the cross sections are found to agree with the theory within an error of about 3%.
