Abstract
In this paper, the effect of a thin layer of fibre-reinforced mortar (FRM) lining during the restructuring of ovoid masonry structures was investigated through rupture tests on stone arches. The addition of an FRM lining increased the tensile strength of the structures and delayed the onset of cracking. The great advantage of this type of lining compared to a traditional reinforcement, such as the steel-reinforced shotcrete, is the significant saving of the carrying out and of the preservation of the hydraulic capacity of the structure
