Abstract
A thin film coating design has been proposed for enlarging the high reflectance zone of the dielectric coated laser mirrors. The design consists of three contiguous stacks of dielectric materials of different tunings. The tuning ratios for the multilayer stocks have been derived to achieve a broadband high reflectivity zone in the wavelength region of interest. Computations have been made for these ratios or the combinations of some commonly used dielectric materials and the results have been presented in the tabular form. A broadband dielectric mirror with these tuning ratios has been fabricated using ZnS and MgF2.
