In Reply. —Dr Roberts refers to three articles other than ours. In two of the reports (a total of six cases), the syndrome was broader than the one we described in that the patient's thigh pain and tenderness were accompanied by calf pain and tenderness and by a rash. However, in the first case reported by Kressel et al, the patient suffered from such profound thigh and calf pain that pseudoparalysis resulted, and the rash was not present until sometime after the pain and tenderness appeared. We have not observed nor have I read of a case of disseminated candidiasis manifested solely by bilateral anterior thigh pain and tenderness, but that in no way contravenes Dr Roberts' point. I am sure that in time such a presenting manifestation will be described, and I agree that in the appropriate circumstances the possibility of both systemic candidiasis and disseminated aspergillosis should be
