Abstract

In this paper we report the magnetic properties of nanocaps prepared by using Co (5 nm and 100 nm) thin films as a function of thickness. These films were deposited by Ion beam sputtering technique on PS (Polystyrene) nanospheres coated Si (100) substrate. For a comparative study, the film was also deposited on plane Si substrate. The surface morphology of the films were investigated by Atomic force microscopy (AFM) technique which shows that synthesized nanospheres grew on Si substrate in hexagonal manner. Magnetic properties were investigated using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) technique which shows variation in magnetic properties with film thickness.
