Abstract

Thesaurus Literaturae Buddhicae (TLB) is a digital archive project of Buddhist literature initiated by Jens Braarvig in 2000 in order to document historically and culturally significant Buddhist texts which have been translated into various languages over the past two millennia. In this paper, as a follow-up study of “Thesaurus Literaturae Buddhicae (TLB): Its Scope, and a Description of Its Routines” (Braarvig: 2001), we examine the present state of TLB, including its achievements and challenges over the past 20 years. We also discuss plans for its further development as a tool for research and education in the field of Buddhist studies. It is hoped that this paper will make a small contribution to promoting the use of this online multilingual digital library, drawing the attention of students, scholars, and the general public in Korea.
